Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses... and we will turn them into cheap, slave labor then bring them up on criminal charges and have them deported when they seek full citizenship.

To quote my "democratic" senator, Diane Feinstein:

"Our borders are a sieve, detention facilities are insufficient for the numbers of people captured trying to enter the country, the Border Patrol is understaffed, and technology for surveillance and other purposes is inadequate for the job."

She is clearly missing the point. Why is it that people risk their lives crossing the deserts rather than go through the legal channels to enter this country? Because we limit the number of people we allow into this country. Each country has a quota. If we simply made the process of legally entering this country easier, while sufficiently screening each person who comes in, then we will reduce our undocumented immigrant population, and we will know better who is in this country. It is at that point that we can then consider improving border security, to catch those who are crossing for illegal purposes. Then we don't need as many detention centers, because they won't be filled with people simply seeking a better life for themselves and their families.

Better yet, work to increase opportunities and quality of living in their own countries so they do not have a reason to come here in the first place (either for better living or to attack us).
