City Terrace... THE View of LA

City Terrace is one of those soon to be a hot spot neighborhoods.

City Terrace has amazing views of downtown to the west, Long Beach and Catalina Island to the south. San Gabriel Mountains to the north and east. It is adjacent to Cal State LA, and there are plans to make the City Terrace business area into a "college town" for Cal State LA students.

City Terrace is located at the intersection of virtually every major freeway in Los Angeles, including the 5, the 10, the 101, 110, and 710 and is just 5 minutes from the 2 and the 60. This makes getting to other parts of LA from City Terrace a snap! It is also just a 10 minute commute (on surface streets) to downtown LA.

City Terrace has several parks, and its own public library. It is part of un-incorporated East Los Angeles, and as such, does not fall under the strict building permit requirements of the City of LA.

Calling all Racists, Neo-Nazis and Klansmen!

A recent Excite Poll, with accompanying article, Armed Volunteers Plan to Patrol Border describes this organization called "the Minutemen Project" which consists of a group of volunteers, an armed militia, if you will, that will patrol the border with Mexico for one month and report any illegal activities to the border patrol.

What the heck is going on here? Allowing an armed volunteer civilian army to patrol our border with Mexico? Are they insane?

Just who do you suppose would volunteer for such a mission? The fears are that this will attract anti-immigrant, racist groups and individuals who can legally carry handguns in the barely red State of Arizona. Can you say, "Racially motivated crimes"? How about "International Incident"? Not that the GOP cares anything about such issues. I mean, heck, this is just Mexico, right?

What's worse, check the poll results... as of 10:15 AM, 62% of Excite Poll respondees thought this was actually a good idea!
